Just about right.

The movie hits just about the right level of expectation from what you see in the trailers. Action - check. Suspense - check. Angelina Jolie looking hot in action while your in suspense - check.
Although the plot has a pinch of twist, it is nothing you can’t see coming - especially if you’re a thinker-watcher like me. You might see this predictability as dissatisfying, but that’s not how I felt (entirely). The movie does a commendable job of building suspense, despite the fact that your suspicions are confirmed when the storyline turns the corner. The action beats the thriller in this case. The action definitely saves the movie. This is quite impressive as it’s usually the thriller that makes the movie for me.
What I did find unpleasing however, was the couple of times where the dialogue was hard to follow. The interchanges were too fast at points and the heavy accent in the interrogation room gave my concentration and auditory cortex a good workout. Thankfully, the basic gist of the context was never lost.
If you like Angelina Jolie, you will probably enjoy the movie a little bit more. She goes through three hair styles (four if you count the comb-over from when she disguises as a man - yep, you read right) and manages to pull them all off. She also speaks Russian. Now I don’t know about you, but when someone I like speaks in another language their attractiveness increases ten fold. Anyhow, back to the movie…
The movie didn’t blow me away, but it didn’t disappoint me either. 3 out of 5. As for the question: Who is Salt? It’s no fun if I tell you. You gotta watch it and see.
Random note: Does it annoy you when there is such blatant use of product placement? It kinda makes me twitch. Salt made me twitch, for a good 5 seconds. I guess it could of been worse…
